NEUW presents ART/WORK

Featuring Sakeema Peng Crook

The first way Sakeema Peng Crook found to express herself was dance. “Whether I'm dancing with someone, or by myself, it's a conversation. When I'm dancing on my own, it's my own way of speaking to myself,” she says. After formally training in ballet, as well as other styles, the worlds of fashion and nightlife opened another door into creative self-expression.

And Sakeema does a lot. In addition to being the mother of Kiki House of Bodega,  recent commissions and collaborations include British Vogue,  Christian Louboutin, and Vivien Westwood. We are honoured to step into Sakeema’s world for #NeuwArtwork, where the future looks bright for the up-and-coming dancer and movement director.

To celebrate the launch of our new collection, #NeuwArtWork spotlights a series of seven creatives in this season’s key fits and newest apparel. Each from a diverse range of disciplines but united by their passion and independence, our Creators are captured by photographer and filmmaker Amanda Fordyce in a short film series that gets to the heart of their practices and perspectives.
