NEUW presents ART/WORK

Featuring Alice Padrón

Originally from Spain, yoga teacher and musician Alice Padrón was always surrounded by music. With a classical violinist mother, Padrón started playing cello at age five. “I went to music school,” she says, but overwhelmed by the pressure of a rigorous classical music education, “I dropped out when I was like 13.”

She found her way back to playing through teaching herself guitar, and when moving to London’s warehouse scene formed her band, Platypus Complex, with a group of female friends. “I hope it can be inspiring for other women to know that they can do whatever they put their mind to,” she says. “They can take up the space and be out there.”

To celebrate the launch of our new collection, #NeuwArtWork spotlights a series of seven creatives in this season’s key fits and newest apparel. Each from a diverse range of disciplines but united by their passion and independence, our Creators are captured by photographer and filmmaker Amanda Fordyce in a short film series that gets to the heart of their practices and perspectives.
